What is SOC 2 Type 2 Certification?
SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to evaluate a company’s ability to manage customer data securely. It focuses on policies, procedures, and controls related to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
In February 2023, Apptoto achieved SOC 2 Type 1 certification. This was a crucial first step in our ongoing commitment to continuous, verifiable data security. But we didn’t stop there. While Type 1 reviews controls at a single point in time, SOC 2 Type 2 takes it further by assessing how those controls perform over an extended window.
